An old family friend, he also has to make the cross-country trip - and has plenty of baggage of his own. The road home may be unfamiliar - especially with their friendship venturing into uncharted territory - but together, Amy and Roger will figure out how to map their way.

I'm so looking forward to read this book. So, when I received an email from RivetedLit said that this book is on their free reading for this week, I was freaking excited. I heard many many good things, thus I start reading immediately.

Let me give the overview of this about book. Well, Amy having difficult time of what had happened to her father and when her mother decided to bring Amy's twin brother to a rehab while she moved to Connecticut and Amy is left behind at their old house in California. And then her mother inform Amy she need a car that she left behind in California, so she wants Amy & Roger bring the car to her. Hence, she has prepared itinerary for Amy & Roger. That's when their road trip adventure start but instead followed her mother itinerary, they decided to take another road way different from what her mother has plan for them.

Roger has his own plan in his mind which he wants to met his ex-girlfriend to actually solve whatever need to be solve between the two of them. While Amy, she wants to go to a place where she and her dad has been to also to a place where her dad has make a plan for a road trip for all of them to go but it didn't happen, so Amy wants to visit the place.

Plot

I have a high expectation on this book however, it kind of has disappoint me. The road trip was great, I get to know each of the state that been mention in the book, the way the author describe is so amazing that I can imagine it by myself as if I'm at that place. Thumbs up for that. Though, it's a little bit slow but I could tolerate on that because of the amazing adventure.

There are also flashback between Amy & her father of what actually happened and before it was happened.

Character

There is Amy & Roger but the chemistry between this two is a little bit off but somehow towards the end they finally realized they have fallen in love with each other but that isn't much.

All in all, there's nothing I can say about it since, I was so sad that I couldn't love this book as much as anyone else. This is only me who felt like this, not you but me. I suggest that you should read on your own to know whether you like it or not. Certainly, I won't give up from reading any Morgan Matson's book because I love her writing so much. It just I don't really enjoy this book.

How To Further Study Abroad

February 15, 2017

Because I'm only a degree holder, no diploma/foundation/matriculation certificate hence, I really really want to further my studies to the higher level. Since, my mom is a PHD holder that what makes me even more inspire to further my study! She's my inspiration, my everything and I'm so proud of her ❤😘

how to further study abroad

Thus, as I have promised, in this post, I would like to share on how to further study abroad. It's very easy, there's nothing to worry about. As you know, I have received an offer from three university, two of them are unconditional offer, while another one is conditional offer. I will explain what is the different between the two of them.

Anyway, what do you need to prepare before proceed to apply the university. You need to have all of these, so that you won't feel hectic when you don't have it.

  • Diploma/Degree certificate
  • Diploma/Degree Transcript
  • Personal Statement - A little bit about yourself and your studies, reason why you choose them, why do you choose the course, and your future after finish your studies. If you still couldn't imagine on how to write this you can just google it, there are many example on how to write it.
  • Reference Letter - This is very important! You need to ask from your lecturer to write a reference letter for you or if you are working you can ask your manager/supervisor to do the reference letter. For this you need to prepare two reference letter but to be in safe side, I guess you should prepare three since, some of the university they need 3 reference letter.
  • IELTS/GCEO - Some university they don't need IELTS, so you don't have to sit for that but most university they want the students to sit for IELTS. If you already have GCEO with atleast a B3/B+, then maybe you can negotiate with them about this matter.
  • Proposal/portfolio - If you think you want to do research for your master, then they need your proposal. They want to see it. But I don't really know about this, so I'm not sure how it works. Sorry :)
These are the first thing you need to prepare. It would be better if all of these, you make a copy of each of the documents and verified them. You need to prepare more of these documents, if you're going to apply more than 2 university.

Anyway, that's that. Now, let's moving on how to apply university

This will be based on my experience apply in those university that I'm going to mention here. So, yeah.

The first university I've had applied is in the UK, there's two university and both of them, I received a conditional offer for this, which mean they want me to sit for IELTS because I didn't sit for IELTS yet, hence, conditional offer. To be honest, most university in UK, they want us to have an IELTS.

whereas

another two university is in Australia, which is one in Melbourne and the other one is in New South Wales. Both of this university, i received an unconditional offer which mean, the only thing you need to do is to pay your fees, do your medical check up, do your visa and off you go.

To make you understand more in this term, conditional offer is where there are things are incomplete in your application and might be one of it is IELTS and maybe there are some other reason.

Whilst, unconditional offer is where you have meet all the requirements. I hope I have clear on this part.

To apply university abroad, you can either apply it by yourself on their website or maybe you can opt for a verified agent to help you to apply university for you and I think it's free, if I'm not mistaken but correct me if I'm wrong about this.

For me, I did this on my own. I go to their website, see what course do they offer there and applied those on their website and wait for the email. They will email to you! So, don't worry about that. Also, right after you receive emails from them, if you have any other confusion about anything you can just email them, they will answer you as soon as possible.

Oh! I almost forgot, usually it will take a week or two but sometimes a month for you to receive from them either they offer you or not. That takes quite some times. But it worth the wait.

I guess that's all. If you have anything you want to ask, just leave on the comments down below. I will be here to answer your questions. and if you have any other information you would like to add, please include it in the comment. 😘

Have you decide which university/country you would like to apply?

Things I Encounter When I Work At A Bookshop

Things I Encounter When I Work At A Bookshop

I guess as every one of you (might some of you not knowing about it, yet) I'm used to work at a bookshop before. There's huge things I happened to witness it when I was working there. Most of it exciting, some were not but that's what it is when you're working at a retail store (you know what I mean, is it?).

So, I was thinking to share with you of what have I encounter when I work at a bookshop. For the good things I share, please keep on doing it and the bad things take it as a lesson and please never do it again. Promise me that, pretty please.

Anyway, without further ado, let's see what I've had experienced when I was working.

So, I've been assigned to English Department, of course, I'm expert in that sense (lol) know where the book in each of the shelf but yet, I'm still in the lookout for Malay Department which sometimes I'm a bit blur of where is the books on which shelf, so, I got a little bit slow to find it and yet I still, nail it anyway.

#Number 1

Helping customers is sort of mentally challenging. Why I say that? Because every customers has different personality and attitude which, you need to know how to handle each of them. I know its hard and very scary (a bit) but I still find that, its a beautiful memories ever in my life. Again, why I say that? Here's the thing;

↣ When you help a customer to find a book they want the face of them shows they are excited over books they got, it's overwhelming and I feel so satisfied and very much happy for them. Because even me as a customer, I would be jump out of joy to finally find the book I want.

↣ When they say "Thank You". Goodness, that's huge kind gesture of appreciation for helping them, which I'm so much appreciate in my whole life.

There are so much kindness of customers that I've been helping when I was working in a bookshop to which I feel so happy to get this kind of experience in my life.

#Number 2

Books been scattered away from the bookshelves. This things always happen on weekends, where there's huge number of customers came into the bookstore and it is really a bit out of control (I think its the same as any other retail store) but hey, it still feel great. Why? Because it is a good thing that everyone loves reading. Seeing them purchasing books and excited to bring them home and start to read, that's a good sign.

Even though, the books were scatter away still, it feel like a treasure hunting for me to find the books and put it back on the shelves. Tired? of course, I didn't deny that but when it comes to books, I don't mind at all. It's fun and I love it.

#Number 3

Seeing kids who is busy in children sections finding which books they want feel so good because they have this enthusiasm of want to read. For me, it's okay for the kids to start reading a comic because as long as it is something related to reading. I, myself, start with reading comic like doraemon, pokemon, to name a few, and here I am, I've been reading many kinds of genre, ever since. It always in need to start with something first to develop the love of what you love, right?

p/s: I give myself as an example, just because, it easy that way. lol

Being able to experience these kind of experience has been a huge in changing my perspective of working in a retail store. I do have few others experience in retail store but working in this bookshop has definitely having an impact on me. I learn a lot of things from here. Be it about how to handle customer, suppliers, book damage, processing books and of course, a beautiful friendship which, I will forever cherish it in my whole life.

Well, I have graduated from university in retail management it would be ashamed to me to not experience all of this. Some other amazing things I received from working in retail sector is that it's definitely has make me more confident in talking to the customers because you have to explain of what, why, how, when and who to the customers, if they ask anything from you, you need to be able to answer them. I think that's a very good thing I gain from it and guys, please don't look down on those who working in this retail sector because you'll never know what are their education holder they have, since, they are some of us have a diploma, degree, even master so, it would be nice for you to treat them well. That would be really much appreciated.

Have any of you have experience in working in retail sector? If yes, please do share your experience. I would love to know.
